Now Open: 2025 Expansion Award

The Expansion Award enables teams to add new single ventricle-focused approaches and directions to their current work by providing a one-time, year-long award of $50,000. This small-but-mighty grant – open to both new and established investigators within the single ventricle research community – has an efficient submission and award process springboarding these studies forward, faster.
Expansion Award funds can be used to explore bold, new single ventricle-focused research directions inspired by the applicant’s current work. Competitive applications often provide novel and groundbreaking aims whose successful completion would impact our understanding of single ventricle, or open new avenues for care and curative solutions for single ventricle patients.
Since the first Expansion Award cycle in 2021, we have funded 10 projects annually, with work ranging from developing machine learning algorithms to the addition of novel single-cell ‘omics techniques to develop regulatory maps. Proposals for the 2025 Expansion Award are due November, 7, 2024 by 8:00pm EST.
